Many BI software applications include modeling features. But these solutions rarely offer the breadth of econometric modeling capabilities that enterprises need to stay on top.

In response to this, PROGNOZ has developed advanced modeling and forecasting functionality in its PROGNOZ 5 Platform. Econometric models allow users to predict macro-level trends. Real-time simulations and scenario analyses are based on manipulating input variables and monitoring resultant effects on output. Target forecasts work from the top down, enabling users to establish their desired targets, while the technology identifies the input solutions required to achieve these goals. Multi-variant forecasts combine scenario analysis and target forecasting into an iterative forecasting cycle. This ability to visualize and analyze potential outcomes and adjust accordingly can drive incremental gains with large financial implications for companies and governments.

Most BI solutions formulate data via multidimensional cubes. While some BI solutions allow these cubes to be sent between users, each recipient must have the solution installed on his/her machine. This inhibits the efficacy of data as it blocks the use of cubes across the enterprise, between parent and subsidiary companies or between clients and partners.

In order to add value to the PROGNOZ 5 Platform, PROGNOZ software architects have developed multidimensional cubes that are functional for any user, whether or not they have the PROGNOZ 5 installed or associated database connectivity. This access doesn’t come with a loss of functionality—non-PROGNOZ users still have the same ability to view and manipulate our data cubes (including graphics and statistical functions) as licensed PROGNOZ users.
