Prognoz and Perm State University to hold Sixth Perm Winter School

20 January 2016

On February 4–6, Perm will host the sixth consecutive session of Perm Winter School, an international conference providing financial risk insights.

The event will provide a forum for discussion of contemporary topics in financial modeling and risk management. This year’s agenda includes discussion sessions on financial networks, market microstructure design, ethnography of high-frequency trading, new blockchain protocols, and the science and art of risk management and regulation.

The Perm Winter School’s unique format traditionally brings together renowned international experts in financial market modeling and risk management, many of whom have become regular guests of the school. Among this year’s keynote speakers are Richard Olsen, the founder of online forex broker leader Oanda; Rosario Mantegna, one of the pioneers in the field of econophysics; and Deputy Head of the Bank Regulations Department at the Bank of Russia Alexey Lobanov.

The first two days of Perm Winter School will be held at Perm State University. The third and final day of the event will be held in the PERMM Museum of Modern Art, where artistic sessions under the direction of Darya Parkhomenko, the founder of Laboratoria Art & Science Space; and George Mansurov, the founder of the Contemporary Musical Theatre Lab and a soloist of the Music Aeterna Orchestra; will take place.

The conference is organized jointly by Prognoz and Perm State University.
